Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at One Fine Day to you and your families! We are so thankful for all of our wonderful brides and planning so many wonderful weddings. We are also thankful for our amazing support group of our own families that are incredibly understanding when we get super busy planning such grand events!

Hope you all have a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving! Today just wanted to say how incredibly thankful for my amazing family and fantastic clients. Thank you for your support. Fall Familytime Fun

We took much of the month of October "off" to spend some much needed time with my kids and my family and it was so good. Of course there was some good planning going on for next year weddings as well but the majority was for the family. Our trip to Cancun was WONDERFUL! Just what we all needed. No laptop, no cell phone, sun and R & R! Perfect!

     

We also celebrated this BEAUTIFUL Fall weather with lots of time outside enjoying the many fall traditions and festivals. Colorfest at Bernheim, the Keeneland Fall meet, and Trick or Treating with the family were all wonderful to name a few!

  

And I certainly can't forget the ever important and incredible time commitment to get my little man Cole potty trained-but it's going really well and I'm pleased about his success!

Thank you for being patient as we've been busy catching up on our mommy time. :)

Vacation time for One Fine Day!

I could go on and on for days about how wonderful the wedding I just completed this weekend for Megan and Jake...it was a marathon wedding and we had 3 different BIG parties to plan (the wedding being 1 of them) this weekend for them and it was a GREAT success! However, I'm unable to share some great pictures or the wonderful stories until later as I'm getting all packed this evening to fly out to Cancun first thing in the morning. Hooray! We're so excited! The whole Spalding Family is going-myself, Brad, Carly & Cole. We wanted to take advantage of Fall Break from Carly's school and since we ended our wedding season with a BANG of an incredible weekend...we're going to go catch up on some R&R time with the family! So, please don't think I'm being unresponsive to your emails or phone calls but I'm not even taking my Computer or phone with us! We'll be completely unplugged! Have a wonderful week! allergies

It's a lovely Derby Weekend here in Kentucky and I've got lots to do...but these silly old allergies are getting the best of me....man oh man...These beautiful trees out my window are amazing...

but they are killing me with their pollen and all the pollen everywhere. I had my windows open this week and well, let 's just say I'm paying for it. There was Yellow Pollen Dust everywhere in my house! Awful! But, that's what you get I suppose. It really is pretty, I just have to remind myself that ...think happy Spring thoughts! So I'm thinking I need this...

I've now gone past the tissue boxes that I've used all up in our house with my constant runny nose...so, I need this! Yes, I am taking Claritin but apparently that's not working...any helpful remedies you all can pass along to me? I'd be super grateful?!

C-R-U-N-C-H!!!

Oh no! Say it ain't so...

Mother Nature paid a visit to our house a week or so ago AFTER all the tornadoes came through Kentucky, but we were just sitting there in the kitchen, eating lunch on a nice but slightly windy day, and we watched this pine tree as if it was in slow motion come crashing down right on the swingset monkey bars, playhouse and slide! So, that stinks...but, it can always be worse...at least no one was hurt, it didn't hit our house and the "swings" are still able to be used until we can put together a new one! yuck!

But, while we're talking about the wrath of mother nature, let me tell you about my intern...whom I ADORE!, she really is wonderful...Megan...was in a horrible accident during the ice storm at the end of January. She was driving along and all of a sudden a TREE came crashing down on her car...while she was driving. When I look at these pictures of her car post crash...I'm just AMAZED that she's alive. And she is...and well(she had some staples in her head but they are out and she's great-thank goodness)! Her boyfriend pulled her out through the sunroof. I struggle just to find the sunroof!

I'm truly thanking God that no one was hurt! Wow!

Life is precious! Go hug the ones you love the most!

When You Wish Upon a Star...

Hooray for Vacations!

I'm fresh back from our fantastic wonderful Disney Vacation. A couple days at the Walt Disney Resort and then a lovely Disney Cruise. SO GREAT! I'll share a few pictures as I love to do, but then it's back to work! So many emails to respond to...so many calls to return...plus fun planning, planning, planning still to do. Silly me, I thought January was the perfect time to go on Vacation as it's generally my "off season" but that term no longer exists because it's been planning time like crazy around here at One Fine Day but that week off did me a lot of good now I'm happy, healthy, refreshed and thrilled about all of our upcoming weddings for 2008.

Our little Mickey fan (Cole)  was really good (surprisingly) about waiting in line for the rides and all the fun that entails at Disney World, we all rode the teacups together and it brought back fond memories of my childhood! (Dumbo and It's a Small World did too!)

Carly was thrilled about getting to meet the princesses! Although, they have this new feature of a "Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Boutique" that was incredibly cute of a Princess Makeover for the little girls and Carly REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted it but seeing as how it was also incredibly expensive, we said NO! Plus they had no reservations remaining for that day...apparently there are several much nicer parents out there than Brad and I... ha!

But, don't you worry, there was plenty of opportunity for dressing up for our princess Carly on the cruise ship...she was in all her glory coming down the "royal staircase"...too cute!

The kids favorite part was Disney's private Island, Castaway Cay. We were pleasantly surprised with an impromptu 2 days instead of just 1 at the island as the ship was doing some maintanence...we were THRILLED as it was 85 degrees, sunny, and amazingly wonderful. It was Rest and Relaxation at it's finest and oh so pretty. Toes in the white sand, crystal blue Carribean Waters, cocktails served to you. and when you're done, you just walk a short ways to hop back on the boat: That's my kind of vacation! Carly was on a mission for collecting seashells...which they had a bizillion of and Cole was all about the sand digging and throwing his sand toys in the slightly cold ocean for Brad or anyone else to fetch. It was really nice.

We took plenty of pictures with the characters but this one was at the airport, sadly heading home to Cold Kentucky!

On the flight back we were all exhausted, hard to believe you can be so tired after a vacation. It really is true you need a vacation after your vacation. Especially when I'm planning things...I've got to pack as much into a day as possible! :)

All in All, a great trip, and we're back and ready for more planning and hopefully more blogging, I had no idea it had been so long since my last post! So sorry!

On the sidenote of weddings: If a fairytale destination wedding is your cup of tea, Disney has a beautiful facility for weddings, I was in awe.

I even saw a great little wedding reception going on at the Grand Floridian Resort (an incredibly beautiful resort that I'd love to stay at next time we go) when we stopped by for dinner while we were there. It was way cool, hopefully someday when I get my sister married off, I can coax her to go that route...it was really pretty! Can you imagine having this view for your wedding reception?

Spalding Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas! (A Day late, I realize.) But life's been hectic yet fun this holiday season. All the Hustle and Bustle seems a bit overwhelming that when it finally comes time that I can sit, take a deep breath and realize how lucky I am to be so busy this time of year that I'd then like to blog to share a few photos of our Christmas with you! Hope yours was Merry and Wonderful too!

Santa was VERY, VERY, VERY good to all of us this year.... 

Cole's favorite... "CARS", that's all he said for an hour straight... "CARS, CARS, CARS!" about his new matchbox car track and garage.

A special present from Carly to her Mommy...maybe I'll get Breakfast in Bed someday soon! I can dream about it anyways.

A few hours later...still infatuated and playing with his Cars...so cute, and I'm so glad he liked it!

Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness! I'm so excited to share!

Brad (my wonderful husband), bought us a family photo session with Melanie Mauer for my Birthday Present last month and we were able to schedule the photo session in early September and we went to the oh so beautiful and scenic Bernheim Forest (near Bardstown) for our session and oh it was so fun!

But, it didn't come without some stress and worry during the planning. Getting an awesome family session like that, I didn't want to screw it up because I knew it would be a special occasion before we would be able to afford to do it again. And, oh, all of Melanie's photo sessions look so great, I just wanted to join the hall of fame not the hall of shame in Melanie's book either. So, as the obsessive/anal planner that I am. I laid out a million outfits and took pictures of them all and when I emailed my favorites for Melanie to see, she giggled and said she had never seen anything like it...the photos, not the outfits! But, she was able to help me narrow my selections like I knew she could! So, I thought I'd share one of my funny planning photos too:

(I really wanted some of the "color" photos to show off some of Brad's and the kids beautiful blue eyes! Can't wait to see them when they are back!)

Anyways, Melanie sent me a "sneak peak" of one of the proofs and I couldn't wait to show it off. I'm so excited... I love my family and my husband and I'm just so fortunate that Melanie captured "us". Wanted to share. More to come in the next week or so!! Hooray!!

Happy Birthday to ME! Yep, I'm officially old...not that I didn't feel that way yesterday, but my Birthdate makes it official. :) But, I have had the BEST Birthday! I feel so incredibly blessed and loved by my family and friends. Thank you so much! I'm just the luckiest gal in the world! Another year older, but that just gives me more to look forward to and thankful that I'm happy and healthy and so darn loved! How cool! I'll post some of my most wonderful birthday presents soon...wow, wait til you see them! Again, I'm so truly blessed....but, I'm also Blessed with BUSY wedding season and right now is not a great time to post on my Blog as I prepare for a Big wedding next weekend for one of my most favorite Brides in the world...can't wait for her big day, it will be amazing but there is lots to do in this last week for me...so, Blogging will have to wait. Sorry!
